Description:
As the weather gets colder you’ll have need of a lightweight base layer bottom to keep your legs and other locations below the belt warm and comfy. The Sitka Core Base Layer made with Polartec Power Dry material is high performance for hunters on the move as it provides a good fit with both moisture control features and scent elimination.
When the cold chill of an fall or spring hunt call for just a bit more than your Ascent pants, slip on the Core bottoms. The performance fabric will wick moisture away from your body and dry quickly so you don’t get the chills when you stop to glass a big bull elk from the ridge line. Ditch the old school long johns and get with the program by layering with the best from Sitka.

I already have very good cold weather clothing, but am vey interested in the Burris Binos, and the Arrows. I have a set of the Burris Signature Sellect 8×42 binos from Camofire, for the money they are great, just used them in -25 Celcius weather.I think CamoFire would do well to show all of the products for sale on a certain day. As for me I would be interested in 2 sets of the 10X50 for my kids, but I am going to work, and may not be around when they come up for sale. I think many others may be in the same situation. Why not just let me click on the product, and if I like it I can buy it. I will probably just buy something from opticsplanet as I want them for christmas presents.
Bought these last year from Camofire, I must say I was not impressed. They run small in the inseam so an XL for someone who is 6’1″ tall fits about 4 inches above the ankle. Much better performance gear out there than these.
Sorry Gord, we’re one item at a time. Just the way, albeit quirky, that we run the website. If you miss them drop us a line as we may have some left over.
James – Thanks for the feedback on the Sitka Core bottoms
I second the great review of the Burris Signature Select binos. I bought the 10X42 a while back here, and have been extremely impressed. Very rugged, and good clarity all the way to the edges. Far better than comparably priced Leupolds or Nikons in my opinion.
Gord – This isn’t Cabela’s, this is Camofire! It’s about deal hunting! You won’t likely catch the same prices elsewhere, definately worth the extra work IMO to wait for the said deals to pop up!
Thanks Kendall & the rest of the Camofire staff for doing such an amazing job! Thanks to you guys my Christmas shopping is pretty much done! ๐ ๐ ๐
Purchased the boxers and Tops in the Core 4 Element. Took them to Illinois for a mid-november bow hunt. Wore this set with a regular set of field clothing and Sitka celcius set. 20 degrees and stayed warm with no problem. No regrets!! I plan on buying a couple of more sets.
Ron, I have a question for you after your last response: were you still-hunting or hunting from a stand? Did you spend a lot of time in the stand if you were stand hunting? I haven’t exactly been wading in bucks lately so I’ve been spending a lot of time in the stand, haha. I have the Celsius jacket and layer it over a polar-fleece quarter zip and under-armor style compression shirt, and I’m really leaning toward a Kelvin jacket since I’m still running a little cold in the stand (by leaning, I mean saving and buying it as soon as the money comes in). I know the Celsius line is not so much built for just sitting, but I’m just curious!
A.J. – I know you asked Ron, and I’m curious to hear his take, but I have found the Celsius jacket to be pretty nice for stop and go hunting. I used it this year in conditions ranging from 40 to 50 degrees with one light base layer to a -8 degree morning. That day I had a fleece lined wool sweater on, was sweating on the slow walk in, sat for 15 minutes and stayed real cozy then missed a little buck at point blank range, but we don’t have to talk about that! Last weekend I still hunted and sat for 30 minute intervals at about 20 degrees in snow. It works well but I certainly wouldn’t plan on sitting for a long period of time with the ability to move a little and get the blood flowing. Try a down vest under it, if you have room. But really you just can’t beat wool bids and jacket for that, IMO.
What happened to the gold tip arrows? I never saw them come on today.
Thanks John: I’m going to bite the bullet and just pick up the Kelvin jacket, Sitka’s down jacket, it seems pretty excellent.
