Today’s First Shooter – LORPEN MERINO WOOL SCENT STOP SOCK
Suggested Retail Price: $14.99
Camofire Price: $7.49 – 50% OFF
For years Lorpen has made high quality merino socks that are comfortable and durable for long days of hiking and hunting. Now they’ve taken a high technical weave sock and added the highly effective Stop Odor scent eliminator which transforms foot odors into completely odorless compounds.
This treatment is done at the thread level prior to the knitting of the socks. Add to that feature the extra cushion in the heel, seamless toe, padded forefoot and a light weight mesh weave on the top of the foot that minimizes foot discomfort and you’ve got a sock that is one of a kind.

Kendall and crew, what are the differences, if any, between the 2012 c4e element jacket and the 2013 element jacket? Maybe the differences between the new summit jacket vs the element jacket too?
Good questions, and good info from Bryan below (Thanks Bryan). To go one step further the differences between the 2012 Element and the 2013 are as follows:
2013 has:
– micro fleece lining vs. the brushed tricot lining. The micro fleece is a bit warmer, but it also allows the softshell material to stretch more. (jacket and pant) It’s just a hair lighter and compacts a bit better. Overall it’s more comfortable in movemtent.
– reverse coil zippers vs. the waterproof zippers. Honestly the jacket didn’t need waterproof zippers, and the better thing is the normal reverse coil zippers is you can more easily zip them down or up one handed, especially good for the shoulder pocket which I use for diaphragm calls.
– the hand warmer pockets zipper entrance were moved back so you can actually get your hands (entire hands) into the pockets. This has been a point of frustration for me since I first tried one on. It’s much better.
– the side vents have a 2 way zipper and it was moved back just slightly. Now you can vent from the top, or bottom.
– Arm articulation. The arms are pre-cut with articulation which you may not notice from the looks, but you’ll notice from the feel
That’s about it. At least what I can recall from training with C4E. Hope it helps.
Thanks Kendall and Bryan. Always top notch with service and info.
The summit jacket is a “puffy” jacket, an insulating layer and the element jacket is a soft shell, usually worn over the puffy or with it in some matter.
