Description:
If you want to stay dry on your next trip and avoid the hassle of faulty zippers, ALPS Mountaineering tents are for you! The Vertex is a one continuous pole design, free standing tent that is enhanced with 2 doors for easy entry and 2 vestibules for gear storage and extra weather protection. Extra large #8 zippers make opening and closing the doors and vestibules a breeze.
The Vertex has aircraft alloy aluminum poles that are strong and lightweight. Assembly is really easy with the tent clips that just snap in place over the poles. The poles are all shock corded together as one continuous system. The top of the tent has a spreader section for increased head room. With a factory sealed fly and floor seams, you’re sure to stay dry in rainy weather. The polyester fly and floor are urethane coated, factory sealed seams for maximum weatherproofness.
The fly buckles to the tent, offering a much more secure attachment when compared to elastic cord. The mesh roof vents increase ventilation and improves star gazing. All these combined features, make the Vertex 2 a great choice for any backpacking trip.

Kendall,
Was a tent like this on awhile ago as a 2 person tent? If so is there any left? 4 person is too big for me…Thanks!
Is it a 2 or 4 person tent? Title says 4, description says 2.
At 9 lbs hardly a backpacking tent. Need something half that weight.
Is this a 4 season tent?
I have not used this tent but by looking at it I would think this is a 3 season tent.
It is a 3 Season Tent. It is a 4-man tent. I have one and it is a bit heavy to pack but makes a decent tent for a base camp. Hell of a price from Camofire though. Amazon offers it at $196. Specs are below:

Is the core4element mid mountain vest that is coming up windproof? Thanks
Are the vests gone? Looking for an xl.
Aw man!? I had to take a phone call and just missed buying that tent!!!
Isn’t it supposed to be the tent then the vest?….Now we have 7 hrs of backpack instead???…..Tough to pull the trigger Kendall when I come to the computer from the orchard specifically for an item, then it is not there! Having said that….still a great site.
Where is the vest?
Why is the Badlands 2200 discounted only 31% instead of 40%? Every time the pack has been listed on Camofire it’s been 40% off.
I was thinking the same thing! This was on my radar because I missed out on the last one, which was $157. I think I’ll pass on the $23 increase.
Bubba – great question. Badlands came back to us last month and asked us to increase the price to $199 so that they wouldn’t keep getting heat from dealers selling these at full pop. I told them I’d meet them in the middle for the remaining couple hundred packs. We’re down to under 20 of these backs so once they are gone I can’t see us getting more in the very near future.
A little off topic so I apologize but can someone point me to some more info on the core4element cold gear stuff? I saw the bibs last night but I can’t seem to find any further information or reviews on the internet aside from past camofire sales. I am assuming this is an old product line as it isn’t listed on the C4E site and they only have the Torrent stuff up for a waterproof line. From what I can gather, it looks like the upcoming Torrent line isn’t really insulated and is more of just a shell, correct? Sorry again for the random questions. I liked the look of the cold gear stuff but I am wary without many reviews.
Brad,
Yes the C4E torrent line will just be a waterproof shell, much like the Russell l5 cyclone line. The c4e cold weather line is for insulation purposes when you will be stationary for some time.
Hope this helps.
Brad – I had the same questions you did back in June when they had it listed. There really isn’t much out there in regards to the C4E cold gear. Here is a link to the first time(at least I think it was the first time) Camofire had it listed:

Also, if you are interested, I did pick up a full set, and they are very warm. They are slightly bulky, but I think the warmth/thickness ratio is great. It has sealed zippers is quieter than you might think. But I have not hunted in them yet, so I cannot say yet how warm they will be in the treestand come December.
Vest???
Is the mid mountain vest wind proof?
No it is not. That said, I have been hunting with it and for early season and now in Sept it’s awesome for adding some core warmth with minimal thickness and a soft quiet material.
early teal season is coming around here in louisiana. would be nice to see some waterfowl gear in the lineup. thanks alot and great site
Did I miss the vest now?
Do you guys have any bino’s left?
when does the vest sell???
Missed the hoods, I’d buy one if you have any left.
Was wondering on the difference in the two c4e vests. Mostly wondering on the warmth factor. The element vest looks like the element jacket without the sleeves. Is this a good assessment? Is the mid-mountain more of a layering vest than the element vest?
Also, are they available in xl & xxl. I’m borderline between xl & xxl and was wondering how is the fit on these? Thanks again and love the site!
