The Metcalf is the workhorse of the Mystery Ranch hunting line of backpacks. Load it up with enough gear and equipment for a week in the backcountry, or strip it down for an afternoon stalk. Whatever the job, the Metcalf will get it done.
At it's core is the new Guide Light Frame, designed to be extremely vertically rigid, while maintaining torsional flexibility so loads move with you more comfortably. It's easily one of the best frame panels on the market today. The Telescoping yoke and adjustable load lifter angles allow you to fit the pack perfectly to your body. The contoured belt stays in contact with you hips at all times. Working together, all three technologies make carrying heavy loads a dream!
Minimalist in nature, the Mystery Ranch Metcalf consists of the main bag, two small external pockets, one internal hydration sleeve, and two medium sized pockets contained in the Alpine lid. The main bag is accessed via the top loading shroud as well as a full length side zipper. Externally there are 10 compression straps to attach a weapon or gear. Mystery Ranch utilizes auto-locking buckles on each and every buckle resulting in less gear shifting and more peace of mind on those long pack outs.
Separating the main bag from the Guide Light Frame reveals an Overload-Shelf for hauling meat. This added feature is a must when it comes to getting meat out of the backcountry. It puts the weight close to your body for better carrying, and keeps the bag contents clean and protected.
