9/18/10 I am very pleased with the Alta+254CO tripod. The black, light weight, carbon constuction is top shelf. Expensive yes, but a pound lighter than the Alta+ 264AO aluminum and more compact — 18.5 inches with the head removed. The height says 63 but can extend another 1.5 inches to 64.5; perfect for me. The single handle pan head does not resemble the picture but can be made to just pan horizontally without loosening verical adjustment by removing the screws from the base of the tripod head. This then mimicks the operation of the dual handle model pan head. Comes with lifetime warranty. Very nice…thx Kendall!
