Vanguard exceeds the performance of similarly priced glass. Compared to the Leupold Mohave and Vortex Diamondbacks I would choose the Vanguards. Several 3D shooters have looked through mine and can’t believe the quality of these Bino’s.

So Im a little curious about how the magnification of 8x is going to look? I know typically guys go with 10x. Does anyone have experience with 8x binos and their strength? Im reading mixed things online about them being preferred in certain cases. Im just worried about them being strong enough…

For me, in Virginia hardwoods, these will be fine. If your shooting ranges are under 100-150 yards, less power is easier to steady, and easier to pick up your target for most hunters. If you are hunting the wide open spaces, more power can help, but you have to be able to steady the binos to glass effectively. Most of us won’t see much of a different in 8 verses 10 power. IMO, a high quality 8 power will out-look a mid-range 10 power all day long. Just 2 cents…

I just spoke with Vanguard and got some great help. They basically told me the same thing and that the 8×42 is one of their best sellers. I also use them for waterfowl hunting so these are ideal for me. If i need to get wayyyy out there, i have a spotting scope for that.
The only question I have is about the rebate. Will these binos come with the necessary paperwork to mail in for a rebate?

According to the Vanguard website (download the rebate form on-line and print), all you need is a copy of the sales reciept and the UPC off of the Vanguard bino box, all this comes from Camofire in the box shipped to my door, so should be an easy return.
Kendall and crew are good about sending items in the original package, I think only thing they have repacked for me was bulk arrow shafts purchased last year. I just stumbled on the rebate while looking for reviews of the binos. 2 cents..
