Regular Retail Price: $349.99
Camofire Price: $149.96 – 57% OFF
Description:
We had a customer who went to Canada to hunt big horn sheep in this jacket and matching pants. When he left Canada he sold his guide all his Sitka stuff…but refused to sell his Realtree Big Game Jacket and Pants. That’s how good this stuff really is!
Do you demand the best technology and function in a hunting jacket? Then the Team Realtree Big Game Jacket made with lightly insulated GORE-TEX soft shell is the one for you. Made using exclusive GORE-TEX patented soft shell technology that is totally waterproof and seamed sealed this jacket will impress from the moment you put it on.
Unlike others on the market that claim to be waterproof and do not tape their seams, the Big Game has a proprietary and patented method to seam seal the fleece inside to prevent leakage. We know what it takes to impress hunters and sportsman alike and this jacket is one of the finest we have ever set eyes upon. The jacket gets softer with each washing and thus is extremely durable and quiet.
The Big Game GORE-TEX hunting jacket features an athletic design and a roll-up GORE-TEX Paclite hood that stows into the collar. Vertical chest pockets, waterproof zippers and waterproof storage pockets round out the features.
Step up to the big leagues with the Big Game Jacket and stay dry, warm and quiet on your hunts for years to come.

Hi Kendall. I was wondering if you had a chance to look into that order. If not I would like to order this jacket in xxl. Please let me know asap. Thankyou. Jason.

I got this jacket and pants from Kendal back in NOV and I have been very impressed with it. It is a great set ESPECIALLY for the PRICE. I got it in stead of Sitka Coldfront gear which is $1100 for the set. I paid around $300 for the Big Game set from camofire.com I would say as far as the material goes it is as good or better than the sitka coldfront gear. Better because it is much more quiet than the Sitka. It has a kind of microfleece on the outside which make it very quiet compared to the “swish swish” sound of the coldfront and my sitka stormfront jacket. Where it is not guite as good as the Coldfront is in the zippers. The zippers while being waterproof YKK zippers are a bit lighter than those of the more expensive Sitka. The fit is more like the standard hunting clothes fit rather than the slim “mountaineering style” fit of sitka gear.
This jacket and pants at camofire prices are the best value for any peice of hunting clothing I have ever purchased. You will not be disappointed. They are 98% as good as the Sitka Coldfront(90% as good on the construction + 8% for being much more quiet). They cost 1/4 yes 26% of what the Sitka Coldfront will cost you.
As far as sizing goes: I am 6’0 185 and the large fits good for light layering underneath. I can comfortably fit a thick fleece under the jacket and the pants have plenty of room. I tried to fit a down jacket under the coat and it was too tight, so if you want to layer up heavily underneath get a size bigger.

Hi Kendall.
How do these compare to the celsius bibs? I have a pair and they certainly aren’t warm setting still. I see these are waterproof and lightly lined. are they as quiet?
I was going to by a celsius jacket, but the warmth is a problem. I have an older 90% jacket in mothwing with the thicker fleece and was wondering if the celsius is like that one.

Kevin – if you want warmth and waterproof/windproof then the Late Season Pant or Late Season Bib is the call. They are much more insulated than the Celsius Bibs or the Big Game Bibs and have Goretex to keep you dry and warm from the lack of wind. The Celsius jacket is like your old 90% jacket (which is what I hunt in as well) As for quiet – they are almost as quiet as the Celsius but as you wash them they will become more quiet.
The one thing about the Celsius Bibs that I don’t like are the cordura patches on the inside of the legs which are noisy as ever if you scuff your legs together when you walk. In order to not do that I nearly had to walk like I’d been riding a horse all my life.

Jason – like anything with Goretex, it’s not going to breath as awesome as something like a softshell jacket which doesn’t have that laminate material but without using eVent fabric (look it up, it’s better than Goretex for breathability) this stretch Gore-Tex fabric is as close as you can get to a good breathable fabric but keep the waterproof/windproof standard.

Hi guys….
I bought this coat in the XXL from Kendall a month or so ago. Like someone else said, it’s like a variant of the Sitka Coldfront series (while being 1/4 the price). This stuff stretches like a regular soft shell (4 way) but is totally water and wind proof. It (like all Gore-Tex soft shells) has a micro fleece lining. The microfleece is nice against your skin… it reminds me of chamois. It is SUPER SUPER short and won’t provide much insulation at all. The upside is that the jacket is light and quiet and if you get it a little bigger you can easily layer under it. Layering under it makes it 10X warmer. A simple light weight fleece pullover will make you comfortable in 20+ degree colder weather. I have a Cabelas Gore-Tex softshell coat (every day coat) that I wore to a football game (upper 20′s all game) and it was windy as heck. I had a simple light fleece pullover on under the coat and was totally comfortable (my legs were frozen though… should have worn more on the bottom…
).
Anyway… this jacket is the bomb. The only thing it doesn’t have is pit zips. I really wished it did, but it’s not a deal killer for me. I’ll be maily using the jacket for Sept. elk hunting in SW Colorado.
