Product: SITKA SUMMIT CREW NECK MIDWEIGHT BASE LAYER
Regular Retail Price: $80.49
Camofire Price: $33.49 – 58% OFF
Description:
If you’ve been hunting for a mid weight scent control base layer that fits as comfortable as a long sleeve tee shirt, look no further.
The Sitka Summit Crew Neck Midweight Base Layer is a good fitting performance layer that will hold up as a stand alone shirt in early fall but will also keep you warm and dry after hiking a few miles as a base layer when the temps have dropped.
The Summit uses a Dual-Knit construction which allows this mid weight base layer to quickly wick moisture out and away from your skin. Manage heat and sweat easily with this as your base layer or put it over a tee for cooler weather hunting forays.
Hiking far into the backcountry? No worries since you’re protected by an anti-microbial treatment that helps keep you from smelling and the animals from smelling you too. There’s a zip closure pocket on the left sleeve for small items like a diaphragm elk call or a lighter. Bottom line is this may be your favorite hunting top from the moment you put it on. There’s a reason Sitka is rated “Best of the Best” by Field and Stream.

What’s the difference between the Summit shirt and the Core shirt? I assume Summit is mid-weight, and meant for cooler weather. The Core shirt is lighter with less insulation. Can anyone confirm?

Lee – The Core and the Summit are very similar in thickness and performance. The Core is built with Polartec brand material which is sweet, but also the reason for a price difference. The Summit utilized Sitka’s own material. If anything the core is just a slight bit thinner, but not by much

Any chance of getting any Sitka balaclavas in Mountain Mimicry? I have the beanies, but am missing that one last piece to the total concealment…

kendall,
i popped a cap on a Large — this is a mid weight so would the Traverse be considered heavy weight?

I would honestly say that the Core and Summit are not much different as far as material weight. I use both of them for the same purpose, in the same weather. The traverse shirts are significally heavier than the other two. Really, these are pretty much the same shirt, simply one is an ’07 (summit) and one is ’08 (core).
