Built to withstand poor weather for hours on end without sacrificing maximum breathability, 90% of the time, this pant will do all that and more. From the 2008-09 Sitk line up is the 90% Lite Pants. Although this says lite by no means are these anything but bomber. Created with a windproof, breathable, and DWR (durable water repellent) finished protection fabric, the quiet four-way stretch Soft Shell fabric is the ultimate material for all-weather performance.
Five pockets in all which all have waterproof zippers include 2 hand pockets, 1 rear pocket and 2 zip cargo pockets which allow for easy access of all sorts of items like an elk call, energy bar or a CRKT pocket knife. With suspenders included you’ll get a good fit and ride no matter what terrain you’ll be traversing and if you’re carrying a pack this will help to keep the pants from being pushed down. Sorry Richard. The most strange thing – we have Medium Ascent pants and everyone wanted Med Tall. We have 90% pants in Med Tall but everyone wants Medium. I can’t figure it out. However, even though these have a zipper, you can cut the pant leg above the zipper, take 1-3″ out that you need to remove, and sew back together the bottom of the pant leg to the upper portion. I’d suggest a seamstress do it but I’ve had customers tell me this works like a charm and is around $10-$15 to have done.

Kendall when it says 90% Lite pants is that referring to the 90% Pants or a light version? I know they came out with the Stormfront light line and I was wondering if this was the same idea. Couldn’t find anything about it on their site. I could use a Medium sized Jacket or Celsius Vest from Sitka (Ray was asking and you answered in size details) because I already have the Coldfront Pants in Optifade (Could use a jacket now..My Ski Jacket is not ideal due to its color). Seems like the medium sized Sitka Gear are always first to go in the AP HD that you have been offering.

Tyson – this is the 90% pant that they have now. They called it the 90% lite pant last year when they were fading out the original 90% pant which is much heavier than this pant. But if you look at the 90% lite and the current 90% pant on their website they are the same pant. We’ve offered the 2007 version of the 90% pant on the site so we opted to call this the “lite”. I hope that explains this.

These pants are the money! Got some in preparation for a Nevada hunting trip this fall and they worked out great, although the suspenders were not included, so not sure if they really do come with them.

I read your first response, but I will ask anyway. How much longer is leg in the medium-tall vs. the medium-regular? I bought the medium-tall already and will take your advice above, if necessary. Thanks for the deal and I might buy a second pair if you can answer my question in time.

Scott – the medium tall is about 1.5-2″ longer in length. Some guys that aren’t “tall” have told me the tall version was preferred once they had boots on. Others said it was too long regardless. Basically each hunter is going to have his own style of dress and how long a pant can be. I hope that helps a bit.

Kendall – sitka’s website shows the medium waist to be 31″-33″ but your sizing shows it to be 32-34. Is there a reason for the difference in sizing chart?

For sizing, I wear a Large in Sitka pants but I have short legs. 5’10″ 190 lbs, but only 31″ inseam. So if you have longer legs, the Tall would probably be best. FYI.

I went snowboarding in Jackson Hole (Teton Village) last week and after tearing my snowboarding pants I was only left with my 90% sitka lite pants. They outperformed all other pants I have tried and I was very comfortable in -15F weather with only long underwear and these pants in waist deep snow. And the pants were used the next day to go hunting in Montana. Great product.
