Today’s First Deal: SITKA 2009 ASCENT PANTS
Regular Retail Price: $149.99
Camofire Price: $79.98 – 47% OFF Retail

Description:
Sitka really outdid themselves when they created the indestructible yet comfortable Ascent Pant. This lightweight hunting pant is ideal for early season bow hunting or anything where a lightweight rugged pant is ideal. Don’t just believe the hype, check out these details – four-way stretch soft and quiet material that’s abrasion/water resistant/wind resistant, highly breathable, DWR treated, storm proof zippers…the list goes on.
But do they work? Super quiet and some of the most comfortable pants you’ll ever wear in the field. Fully gusseted for comfort with fabric that easily stretches so regardless of what you have to climb over or crawl through this pant will not slow you down. Removable suspenders come included.
Even though there are a list of features, the best thing about these pants is the fact that they are built to eliminate bulk and perform without hindrance or trouble. Although they are a lightweight pant, if it’s super cold, throw on a base layer under these to extend their use from late summer into fall. If it’s warm out the breathability will have you smilin’. Step up with the Sitka Ascent and regardless of the conditions you’ll be set.

Why can’t I add the extra item? The quantity will not let me choose one on the base layer..it only does “How many”?

Hey All, you can now do a couple more things here in the forum.
1. You can Like or Dislike comments that others post. I know it’s fun to get trigger happy but please use these with respect or the man (that’s me) will turn this feature off
2. You can upload images with your comments. I still have to thoroughly test this but for now give it a try if you’ve got a picture of an item that’s on sale or a picture of you hunting (or relative to the comments).
IF anyone uploads trashy, porn or tasteless images, again, the man will intervene.
Thanks!
This is me with my bull from last year….testing out the image upload

Cool…so going off the sizing chart should I get large then? I’m 6’2 and waste is usually around 33…I don’t like things tight but too big is no fun too as you step on the bottom all the time
Any help from others would be great
Thanks

Hawk – my experience with Sitka is that they run tight…I read the note that these are slight bigger, but all of the Sitka line is an athletic cut and much closer fitting than a Scentblocker pant or jacket. My waist is 36-38 and the XL will be snug until I hike a few more pre-season miles. The inseam is a 32, you’ll probably be OK walking, but “highwater” when you sit in the stand. I’m 6’1 and usually get the tall when I can, but the 32 inch inseam works OK for me. If you layer, the extra room goes quick.

If you declare yourself “the man”… are you really “the man”?
In the spirit of change, how about making it so we can log into the forum with a username. I’m getting confused with multiple people with the same first name!

I signed up for the generated email everyday, so it keeps me up to date on what is showing up that day.
My question, are there any plans to have spotting scopes up in the near future? Also looking to purchase some backpacking and camping gear shortly. Specifically Jet Boil gas cooking equipment, sleeping pads, 0* sleeping bags, tents, etc. Just curious.
Trying to get ready for a Utah Elk hunt and a New Mexico Mulie hunt.

Greg, Chris, Brandon – Sitka is a tough one – not sure we when or if we’ll see much from them in the coming couple months. Like this deal came out of no-where.

The Sitka Ascent do run a bit big in the waist. I typically wear a medium pant, but had to go with small or wear a belt on the Ascent. This made them short in the leg, but for an early season pant not a big deal at all.
I kind of wish there was a zip-off version of this pant so I could wear it as a pair of shorts when hiking up into my hunting area.
Ascent is a good, lightweight, breathable pant. They are not extremely rugged though. I have worn a couple holes in mine (typically in the rear) from rocks and such while in the mountains. I will be wearing a pair again when I hit the trail in early September. Wish Camofire had them in sizes other than Mongo.

Derik – not sure why I haven’t thought of that – making some ascent pants zip-off convertible. Hmmm….thinking I may drop a line to C4E about doing that to the soon to arrive Switchback pant.

I’m a medium so the big stuff is killing me too. But i am loving the site. I saw you ran a Celsius vest in medium back in April. Are those gone, long gone? Or is there a retail storefront where I might get on that, even if it’s for less of a discount?
Thanks,
ZM

Brad – oh boy, you’re pushing the envelope with 44. 42 would be ideal. I think with a weekend fast, 30 min sessions in the sauna and a few laps on the track you’ll be a 42 and in business!
Seriously though, it’ll be snug at 44.
