When are you going to have another Nikkon spotter? I missed out on the last one and really want one for the upcoming season. Keep up the good work. I love this site.

Give us a call trotsky. We only have the 16-45×65 Nikon Prostaff in straight and there are a few left that we’ll put up on the site in early June. If you don’t want to wait or miss them again, give Greg a call.

I bought the same trail camera off of ebay last year for this same price. I can say the pictures are sharp in both day and night. I did learn not to aim the camera towards the east or west as you will get 100 pictures of a sunset or sunrise. I have been using it for security purposes and it has been getting pictures triggered further away than advertised. It does seem a couple seconds slow to activate, but you do have the option to set it on single, multiple shot, or video option with temperature settings.

Thanks Brandon for the info.
Matt – Simmons is owned by Bushnell, if that helps at all.

I’m a Spypoint guy, thanks to Camofire, but the website listed above does nothing but test cameras. They don’t sell any, they don’t wanted to be influenced by the manufacturer one way or the other. You’ll see some pretty interesting interactions with the camera customer support on some models. They also post photos and videos from each camera tested, the field footage doesn’t lie.

I also just took my own advise and looked for the Simmons camera review on the website, they haven’t done one on it yet.
Sorry for posting advise that wasn’t worth the two cents…

Kendall/Greg, the fletchings are listed as “6″ pack in the text, and as a “12″ pack in the select quantity field. Which one is right?

Greg – updated and corrected. They come as a 6-pack. Truth be told I messed up on the original order and listed them as 12-packs so Jeni built them as 12-packs when in fact the title and description (which I did this time) were correct as 6-packs.
Anyone ever used these? I was going to give them a try. I used to shoot Blazer but couldn’t get them to stick well so I switched to AAE Max Hunter 2″.

I use the Extreme Archery model quite a bit, and the NAP twisters, these are supposed to be the same. I’ve only had one set out probably 8-10 packs that was not what I would call good with vane alignment and not a tight shrink to the shaft. I have them on a set of FMJs, they are holding so far, much better than the glued on Blaser vanes. You’ve seen my arrow orders, time to get them fletched!

Mike, I am pretty sure they will work on the axis. I put the on the epics before and I think they are similar in specs.

Is there a 2nd color on these vanes or are they all 1 color?

I’ve found that the two things that help are a clean arrow surface, you can scuff it a bit if the finish is glass smooth, and keeping the water as close to boiling temp as possible. The shrink and the bonding to the shaft work best when you keep the temp up. Boiling water will trap bubbles in the shrink, so don’t try that, but I’d recommend reheating your water after 4-6 arrows. I have one set that has been on for three years, with target pass-throughs, arrow slaps, etc and still going strong. Two cents..

Kendall I’m needing some Easton FMJ arrows but in the 400 spline. All I’ve seen is the 300 and 340′s. Got any coming?

Is anyone having a problem capturing 7MB file size pics with this camera? I have it set to HI (vs low for 5MB) and my pics sizes are 890KBs. I have it set to the multi mode for 3 pics at a time, should it be set to single pic?

Hello,
How well do the Simmons ProHunter Trail cameras work in extreme cold, like -20 to -40 Celsius?

Some reason my Simmons ProHunter 119326C does not perform very well in cold weather. Actually I’ve tested it at -1 Celsius and it doesn’t work.
In cold weather it takes pictures and the flash works for IR but the images come out in very bad quality. In the nighttime the images have lines going vertically top to bottom across the image, and the daytime images show up blue, orange, red, and yellow which is definitely not normal.
Is there anyone that can help me or can explain what is going on with this camera?

Sean – it appears that perhaps its in need of a software update. I don’t know much about this camera, but I’d certainly contact Simmons (Owned by Bushnell). and find out what they’re willing to do for you. if we had more, I’d replace it right away. Please keep us posted as to how your conversation with Simmons goes. We’ll push on them if need be.

Doug – are you upset at us because of the print size on the package that we didn’t create? Try Amazon.com for a sim card and save the gas and the headache.
