I would agree on the sizing advise. I bought set in xl which I would expect to get a one layer underneath, but it’s huge, I can multiple layer the pants with room spare. The jacket is cut to go over all of your upper layers AND your safety vest, so wearing the jacket alone will give you plenty of room. My two cents…

@ Greg – how do you like the set? Is it good quality? The price is great compared to what other shops are charging. I was only able to find a total of 3 individual reviews on this jacket. One of them was good but the other 2 complained about the durability of the seams and stitching which has me a little concerned.

Mine has held up well through one season, BUT I did have an initial faulty zipper that I was able to exchange. If you are talking the BassPro reviews, agree, sounds bad. The lead review is from one of their top 1000 reviewers, so I’d weight that one a bit more. I haven’t hunted this set hard, but I think it’s good quality and will stand up to several seasons of up and down trees, and scouting the hunt. No seam problems that I’m aware of with mine. With the “generous” sizing on the pants, the low hanging crotch will tear if you are wearing them baggy and too large while climbing and hiking.
