I too have tried to sign up for texts for many months….I’ve never received one.
It always asks me to enter a password so it’ll remember me when I come back…it never remembers me.
Not complaining, but I’m just trying to inform. (I use a mac and I am using Safari browser…not sure if that is contributing.)

Same reasons the other guys posted. It only works good (within 10 mins) of a new deal going up about 10% of the time. I didn’t get a single alert from last Wed to Sat and then they started again but I get the text 4 hours after the deal has been up. I’m on ATT with an Iphone. I get the emails everyday but I want the text alerts to actually ALERT me to those deals that fly outta here like anything Sitka and other products on rapid fire days. The text alert is a fun little service but useless for what really matters.

I just received my first text. I don’t know if it just happened or if someone fixed it but THANKS! Great site. Was the Sitka saturday and sunday a one time thing or will it continue?

M – I’m on the same set-up (ATT and iphone) and getting the alerts regularly, one or two have been late, but the majority were timely. I’m based in Virginia near DC if that helps the data pool. The text alerts kept coming…all the way to into Afghanistan. I finally had to ask Kendall to turn them off as the airtime fees were going impact my purchasing ability on Camofire. I’ll be back on the alerts when I return. Hope your luck is better with the alerts.

I’m with M – at least it works well for some people I guess(Lucky you Greg)….I got the Nikon alert yesterday, 4 hours after the actual product went live on the site. Pretty typical of my experience with the text alerts, if I get an alert at all. I’m on Verizon with a Droid.

I’m glad to see the feedback on the text service. Believe it or not, it’s VERY expensive to run the text alerts as often as we do (with every product) so the service we chose is…well, let’s just say you get what you pay for. Most companies only need to text customers a couple times a month so 99% of the text services we looked at are built on that need. Our business is a little different. So anyway, we do appreciate the feedback and know the headache/frustration it is to not get the alerts. I didn’t get one for about 2 weeks and then all of the sudden they are hitting me every time. Strange indeed.
Hot Carl – hit us with your “real” name and M do the same to our customer service email. I’ll see if I can reset your accounts for better delivery.
