Description:
Nikon has been making solid performance hunting optics longer than most guys have been chasing bucks and bulls. Their prostaff line of scopes with the Nikoplex reticle is worthy of sitting on any rifle for the long haul. Long considered the standard hunting reticle, the Nikoplex design’s heavy outer posts direct the eye toward the finer crosshairs at the reticle center for fast target acquisition.
These scopes are waterproof, fogproof and shockproof which is essential when you’re hauling up a steep ridge to get the shot of a lifetime. The 2-7x variability offers the flexibility needed for many type of hunting situations, from heavy timber to the open ranges and is the optimal scope for shotguns when hunting big geam. With 90% light transmission that is unheard of in similarly priced binos, it delivers an extremely bright sight picture allowing for high-resolution images even when hunting in the least desirable conditions.
The scope is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed with multicoated lenses. Generous, consistent eye relief and a lightweight scope at just 12 oz and you’ve got one tough performing scope you’ll enjoy for years to come.

This seems to be for a shotgun. Everything I research on it comes up as a shotgun scope. Is this correct?

I just bought one at a local gunshop for my kids youth .243, it cost me about $65 more by the way
. On that gun the scope mounts are mounted right on top of the chamberand the is alot of jolt…which destroyed a cheaper Cabelas Pine ridge scope I had on there. The guy at the shop told me this one is made for jolt, so it makes sense if it is marketed as a shotgun scope.
Great eye relief, nice scope, will sight it in on Turkey day.

Yeah Cliff, this is an ideal shotgun scope, but nothing is stopping you from using it on a heavier kicking brush gun or something for shorter range shooting! The 2-7 power screams slug-gun though.

Thanks for stepping up A.J. to answer that.

That Natural Gear fleece looks (sounds) pretty nice. Under the Celsius I bet that would be a hot combo for the sub-zero that just blew in here in Montana! I stayed warm on a low ridge Saturday, temp in the teens, in just a fleece base layer and the Celsius. I hoped it would block more wind, though I was quite happy with the jacket. Thanks for deal, camofire.

You know JohnC, the Natural Gear stuff has always been middle of the road. Good stuff, better value but this fleece jacket really stood out for us as a solid jacket so we jumped on it. That combo of Celsius Jacket and this Natty Gear jacket would have you feeling like you’re in Phoenix!

It’d be like I was hunting coues deer, except the horizontal snow! Man, the windchills are well below zero with forecasts for the HIGH temps to be in single digits the next couple days…the LAST couple days of our season, dangit. I think my season is over!

Do you know if you have any of the Sitka gear in the Optifade camo that will be available or is it all the mountain mimicry.
