Constructed of 37.5% Merino, 37.5% Acrylic, 15% Nylon, and 10% Lycra these socks were built last and keep your feet in good condition while in the woods. There are different weave patterns through the arch and over the top of the foot and extra padding on the heel and the ball of the foot. Perfect for earlier season hunts the Lorpen Italian Wool Light Hiker socks are second to none. NOTE: Each package says “irregular” on it but after wearing them and inspecting many of them we can’t figure out what’s irregular about them except one logo on one sock has a black dot while the companion sock has a white dot in the logo.

These socks are awesome. I originally bought 4 pair for hunting but after putting them on 2 went to hunting and 2 went to casual wear. Now, I have 4 for casual wear and still 2 for hunting. I just ordered 4 more pair.
I like them much better than my SmartWool socks.

Luke – they are on a truck somewhere between Oklahoma and Camofireland (Utah) so we’re not sure if they will get here in time to show them before Christmas. There were a few speed bumps that we had to get through before the packs could get here so that set us back a few days (like me being out hunting when the deals were supposed to be finalized). Most likely we’ll show them after Christmas. Sorry Luke and others – I realize how they would make awesome Christmas gifts.

I have purchased about a dozen pairs of these socks from Camofire in several different orders, and they are very comfortable and warm. They do not have the highest Merino wool content, but it seems to be sufficient to accomplish what I want in a sock. They are not super thick, but I don’t want thickness in most circumstances. Neither are they thin. I find them about right for most of my uses, from daily wear to hunting, and in casual shoes to heavier hunting boots. In colder weather I might put on a second pair or go with a thicker Merino sock with a thinner liner. For the price, this is a very good sock. I have worn various Lorpen socks for many years, and they have all fit well and held up to heavy use.
