I have several pairs of these Lorpens as well as the hikers. I’m finding that the wool wears off of the heel and toe. Otherwise they are great. Anyone else having this problem?

I have a number of Lorpen socks, not sure which “models”, but I have had only minimal wear in the heal and toe areas. Eventually, it does develop, but considering I wear wool blend socks daily, I think I get more than my money’s worth out of the Lorpens. I used to wear Smart Wool socks, but have found in recent years that they don’t hold up nearly as well as Lorpen and very pricey. Maybe Smart Wool cut costs and quality dropped. Anyway, I’m very happy with my Lorpens.

Does anyone have this Natural Gear jacket? At this price I honestly have to question the quality of it. Obviously it’s not going to be Sitka or C4E quality, but is it at least decent?

Steve, I just bought this from camofire about a month ago. Heres what I think. Plenty warm and comfortable. The pockets are a little awkward but nice for waders and big for hats or bigger stuff. The zippers pretty quiet but has hooked my throat twice and kinda hurt lol. Tue sleeves are dothtly shorter than I wanted but very snug as well. The jacket is 100% waterproof. I just took ita nd filled the hood inside out with water. It held it like a bowl. Overall this jacket is good for the price. Hope that helps.

Steve – I’ve not used it myself but it appears to be a well built jacket. Don’t let the price scare you – we got it on a killer deal. It compares to the Stealth Hunter Jacket which we sold last year and after selling over 500 of those jackets we never heard back from anyone with negative feedback or warranty. Sure, Nat Gear isn’t anything like Sitka, but for a good insulated jacket with waterproof capabilities, I think you’d be happy. But if you demand high performance and bells and whistles, you may want to save your $40 and put it towards a Russell or Core4 insulated jacket that is similar in style.
