Experience Story with Images (bloody images – you’ve been warned)
Description:
When Epek designed the XC-3 they took the approach that a mechanical broadhead should be easy to practice and effective to hunt with, relying on pin-point accuracy in both situations. With a simple change of a set screw, you can put the XC-3 broadhead into practice mode and the blades will not deploy. Release the screw and you’re ready to rock that big buck’s world!
It uses the durability of a solid piece of hardened aluminum as the body with three blades. Not only will the flight of this concealed blade broadhead allow you to place your pin on the spot you want to hit, it allows you to get your arrow to that exact spot.
The bone shattering chisel point ensures the EPEK X-C3 will not wedge in to ribs, shoulder blades or gristle. The larger diameter of the EPEK X-C3 and the extreme cutting angles of the deployed blades allow for deep penetration with minimal arrow drag. If you want the best opportunity to get two large holes on either end of the wound channel then it’s time to step up to the EPEK X-C3.

Tate – sorry I omitted that from the features. It’s 1.75″ and I’ve updated that on the site.

I believe they had some issues with these on the initial release. Are these this years models which are supposed to be improved?

Kendall,
Are you certain it is “this years” model of broadheads? I picked some up and they look exactly like last years model. How do I tell the difference?
They do shoot EXACTLY with my field tips all the way out there. I drilled the buffalo target at 65 yards right in the boiler room Friday night.
Please let me know.

John – Sorry if I wasn’t ultra clear. These are the 2010 models, but the NEW ones that they just came out with a week or so ago are the 2011 models. Heck, I can’t keep straight which year number the NEW ones are but the ones we sold are the ones that have been in shops this year so far, not the soon to arrive in shops model. I hope I didn’t confuse you there…I almost confused myself.

Kendall,
I didn’t realize that they changed the o ring until the newest version being released this month. Either way, they sure shoot straight and I am hopeful that they open up quickly enough to give a great entrance and exit wound on Saturday. Wish me luck and Good luck to all of you.
