We also weighed it and it was just over 6 pounds with the box we ship it in and I can’t imagine the box being more than .6-.8 pounds.

Corey – it’s a padded pack designed to protect your gear as well as carry it. The straps, pads, and waist belt are all heavy duty construction and will carry far more than you can fit in the pack. I used mine (purchased here) on a nine day elk hunt that involved horseback riding everyday, hiking the slopes, and a couple of tumbles that would have broken gear, had the compartments not been padded as well. Point being that I used/abused the crap out of it and didn’t break my gear or the pack. It was the the most comfortable fanny pack that I have ever used, and remains my first choice for hard hunting and hiking.
