I dont have these but do have the broadheads… wore them turkey hunting this spring and they were very comfy and it rained everyday we where there and my feet never got wet! I am guessing these are built the same way or better! If I didnt already have the other ones i would be pulling the trigger on these! I will however tell my buddy who was with me about these as his feet were soaked and his exact words were ” I have to get me a pair of those”
so we will see if he gives in now or not… ill bring up the wet turkey hunt we had haha

These are built on the same idea of the Braodhead, but with a little more support and they reinforced the upper, both the lightweight material (ripstop) and with the added material. For light and fast, I’m pretty stoked on these (which is why we brought them back)

Agreed- I’ve got these and the low cut version, wear both to the range and field. Can’t to start scouting with them. A great buy at these prices for a Goretex shoe.

Will these boots stand up to a Rocky Mountain Elk hunt or an Arizona Coues Deer hunt? I am a little worried about the heavy rocks and thorns. Thanks for any advice!

I am looking for a light weight gortex hiker with little insulate…i already have 600 and 1000 grain boots. Are these lightweight enough for lots of walking in warm temps? Thanks.

Mike – one of the on-line reviews on the shoe was for a ten day hunt in New Mexico and a very positive comment, think you’ll be ok. These aren’t thick hided, so the thorns won’t be stopped if you travel in cactus.
Steve – wearing mine in 60-90 temps on the East Coast, paired with a light sock and like fit and feel for the heat.

Ordered/received Element Jacket and Assault Shirt in L. Interested in Pivot. Should I get an L as well…or an M. Is the L sized to fit skin tight (Assault is perfect, not too big, can layer under it–not skin tight). New to these types of layering system (cotton tees before), not sure how tight a base layer should be. (I’m 5’8″, 180lb).
Thanks!!

Gary – The Pivot is just a bit more roomy than the Assault but I would still order the same size that you did before. It’s not quite as tapered in the arm and the free flow will let in breezes better for warmer temps. It will also dry out fast compared to the Assault if wet. Our programmer is 170 and 5’10 and the Large fit him with a little room to spare in the chest but arms were good on him. Tough call Gary, but I would possibly hedge on Medium if you want snug fit, Large if you want some breathing room. Anyone else?

I got both of these shirts. The fit on the Assault is a little more snug but not by much. I want to be able to wear mine as shirts, not really a next-to-skin setup. the Assault would be more comfortable on the skin in my opinion as it seems like the Pivot is somewhat scratchy due to the perforations in the material. Hope this helps a bit.

Mark – yep, good call. I’m 6’4″ 205 and the L is what I wear, but I also prefer it a little more snug.

Kendall,
Sounds great. I’ll be watching for sure. Any info on what the side item might be? Not to keep bugging you. Just curious so I can know how much I’ll be spending?

Kendall, I got my 6″ Rockies today and they are better than I expected. Lighter than my Merrell shoes I wore to work today. Perfect for early season elk. Will you guys be running the 8″ boots in the future?”

Actually ordered a pair of Rocky Silent Stalkers a while back an earlier run and wore them out for the first time this past weekend. I loaded up the kiddo in the pack and went out for about a 1-2 mile hike.
Pretty impressed as a first overall opinion. They were light as could be and held up to anything I walked on just fine.
I do wish the laces were a little bit heavier duty, but that’s an easy fix. I just like to lace mine up tighter and I really pull on the laces. I didn’t purposely step into any small cactus or anything but sagebrush, weeds; etc all didn’t seem to be a problem. Good grip on rocks and stuff as well. Also they provided enough support in the ball of my foot that my surgically repaired toe didn’t feel one bit worse for wear. Though I didn’t let the rattlesnakes I encountered test his bite on them, I’d say a definite plus for these boots.
