Designed by custom knifemaker and former Alaskan guide Russ Kommer, the 30-30 have that special look and slick action of a Kommer custom.The classic drop point skinning blade has a high hollow grind and Razor-Sharp edge to make fast work of the largest animals.
CRKT used a 1.4116 stainless steel for its combination of edge-holding ability and toughness. The blade is mirror polished to resist corrosion and ramped with a thumb stud. Need it out in a hurry? The Teflon® bushings at the blade pivot allow easy one-hand opening.
Russ knew that cleaning is an issue with all hunting folders, so he went to great steps to avoid dirt-holding nooks and crannies including removing the clip that can often catch debris. For carrying the 30-30 it comes with a custom contoured leather sheath with a belt loop and snap-down flap to completely protect the knife when it is not in use.
Bottom line is a sleek knife that not only looks like a million bucks, but feels perfectly balanced in your hand. It is a simple classic design, carefully executed.

I think you’re gonna like it. As for skinnin’ an elk with it…I wish I could tell you how it works. I used the SOG Spec Elite for my deer this year and have always thought this Kommer 30-30 would be awesome for the job. Just gotta get that elk on the ground…(30 days left to do so)

elk and deer are both died. 3×4 blacktail and 5×5 rosey bull (deer rifle) (elk archery) my season is done for 2009=) next yr will try out the knife and let you know!
