Description:
The CRKT Ripple is noteworthy for its exceptional manufacturing quality, plus an almost unbelievable silky smooth and fast opening flipper style action thanks to the use of the IKBS internal knife ball-bearing system. The modified drop point blade has a high hollow grind, swedged top edge, and a high satin finish. Blade Steel is 8CR14Mov high carbon stainless steel with an HRC rating of 57-59.
The blade is instantly opened by pressing the blade flipper with either hand. Even the best conventional blade pivot bearings have some degree of friction which resists initial movement, or “stiction.” In contrast, the Ripple blade opening action is almost friction-free due to the IKBS ball-bearing system. This innovative and simple design places ball bearings built into the stainless pivot screw. It is compact and adjustable at the blade pivot screw if ever needed.
Not only is opening and closing exceptionally smooth, the IKBS system is durable and requires little maintenance, and yields a folder with great rigidity and no blade play. In typical Ken Onion attention to detail, the aluminum handles are CNC machined with over 40 lightening holes and small ripples. The handles are then hard anodized black and then the top of the ripples are polished off to create a pocket worn finish. Ken Onion designed the stainless steel clip so it tucks away nicely in your pocket for every day carry and easy access.
This knife combines brilliant design, custom knife quality, and advanced manufacturing technology in true Ken Onion fashion.

Kendall, what is going on with the rapid fire texts? Some days I’ve gone without getting any, then days like today I’ve already received the same one 11 times for this knife. Thanks for all the great work you guys do!

Is the first or second version of the Ripple?
Most CRKT knives are not made in the US. Taiwan, Japan, China, wherever they can.

I have that same Big Eddy filet knife. It is one of my go to filet knifes while I fillet Salmon. It will be going with me this weekend on my trip to Kodiak, Alaska to catch and filet lots of silver salmon. It is a great knife that holds its edge for a long time. This is a great knife at an awesome price.

Just received my order the other day of 4 Big Eddy fillet knives and I also got the bonus item which was the Kershaw compound folder. I have a couple of other CRKT knives, I think these fillet knives will be great for our summer fishing trips – the extras are gifts for my dad, brother, and another friend who comes along for the boys trip every summer. I really like the Kershaw folder also – other than that its made in China. However, the fit and finish seems to be quite nice. It feels great in my hand, very balanced and solid. It was hair shaving sharp out of the box which was nice, and I love the speedsafe assisted open technology. Its faster than my SOG Trident and feels more solid when locked up – no play in the blade. I think this is going to be my go to EDC for a while, and I’m sure it will see much use.

Dang…I wamt the CKRT Ken Onion fixed blade skinner so bad, I can just taste it. I missed the last two knives, and think I will just take the plunge on one this coming Black Friday. Just cant wait till it comes around again.
