REALTREE MAX 1

REALTREE AP

Description:
Rain has no empathy for what time it is or what part of the world it is in, it doesn’t care if you are about to stalk a trophy high country mule deer or not. Rain plays a huge role in the scheme of hunting, but you have a choice, you can either run for the truck or pull on the Torrent Pant and keep hunting. The Torrent Pant is a lightweight, waterproof, and breathable pant that was developed to keep you dry on all hunting adventures.
Everything was taken into consideration when designing this pant, it all started with the best waterproof/breathable laminated microfiber brushed tricot fabric that was on the market. From there waterproof YKK zippers were added and all seams were taped to ensure no water will seep through. The exterior is treated with DWR for added protection against moisture. They feature ¾ length side zippers for an easy on and off while wearing boots. An added feature of the side zippers is that they feature a two zip, so if you need extra ventilation zip the top zipper down while the bottom zipper keeps the pants closed.
When not needed the Torrent Pant is highly compressible and can be stuffed inside one of its two zippered hip pockets. Belt loops and a rubber grip liner keep the Torrent Pants secure. The Torrent Pant stretches with you as you power up the mountain during a torrential downfall.

I have not had a chance to hunt in the C4 jacket and pants in the rain yet. I did stand in a full blast shower for 10 minutes with my wife and daughter laughing at me….bone dry!

Are the torrent pants sized to wear over another pair of pants?

Todd, I got a pair last week and tried them out and they worked great. They are sized to wear over another pant or layer.
Hope this helps.

Jeff – thanks for helping out and replying to another customer. FYI – I’m in PDX right now through Sunday morning. Might not have time to meet up since I’m here visiting my sister who is in from Holland, but I’ll catch up with you next time I’m around. Doing any duck hunting yet this year?

Kendall, Let me know if you have time today and we could grab a beer or something. My schedule is light today. No duck hunting yet, I have been hunting every weekend since late august and this is my first weekend off. I figured if I want to stay married I should stay home this weekend! haha

Does anyone have any comments on the CORE4ELEMENT TORRENT RAIN JACKET? I finally pulled the trigger on the pants this morning, and wanted to know if the jacket (which has sold here in the past) is up to snuff. I am in the need of some new (but affordable rain gear) for hunting after my Elk Hunt in the Oregon Cascades last week. My two different pairs of rain pants, I had brought along, did not perform very well.
My main concerns other then is the jacket rain proof; does the jacket get heavy when wet, and how noisy is the jacket in terms of nap (either rubbing against itself and/or against brush)?
Searched all over the web trying to find answers, but could not find a decent review (not even on the C4E website).

Lucas, as I mentioned above I bought the entire set last week and live just north of you in WA. Hunted blacktails last week in that rainstorm we had and did not get wet. The Torrent is thin so it will not soak up the water and get heavy like a riverswest jacket and it soft to the touch. its not noisy at all. If you have the element jacket, its comparible to that as far as noise. The one thing to watch out for is sizing. Make sure you look at their charts because I normally wear a XL and got the XL Jacket and its kind of baggy but I needed the legth in the arms.

Jeff,
Thanks for the reply….good info, and nice to know you understand the wetness of the area I am talking about. The sizing info is very helpful too. I hope the C4E pants I bought this morning are as described, as I am looking for a waterproof, but thin, pair of pants to wear all season long. It might not be raining in the cascades, but that does not mean you won’t look like you came out of a monsoon when you step out of the fur trees. Very excited about my purchase, and hope to pull the trigger on the jacket when it comes back on.

I have not had any rain yet, but have “tested” them out, and they work great. I have washed them without any problem. They seemed somewhat quiet to me, but I wasn’t moving a lot in the shower while testing them.
I like them a lot. That being said, it is still hard to justify $200 for rain gear unless I live in a wet environment, which I do not. They do run a little baggy, but I would order the same size you order the Element Jacket in, IF you plan on wearing it over other gear.

I bought the torrent gear last week and all seems great. High quality, lightweight and quiet fabric on the outside. The problem I see is the sizing. I got M and the waist is good but they are waaaayyyyyy long!! I checked the C4E website and the M, L, XL are all 33.5 inseam, i didn’t measure it but it looks even longer than that. Seems odd for a M to be the same as a XL?? I got the element gear in M as well and these are much better to fit. I would think most people that will be getting M in the torrent will have issues with the length of the pants. It should be 32 inseam @ most…IMO

Thanks for the feedback, it’s good. I’ve passed along to Core4 what I think is a better solution for inseam for next season:
Small – 31.5″
Medium – 32.5″
Large – 33″
XL – 33.5″
2XL – 33.5″
3XL – 33.5″
We see a ton of guys in the Med-Large range that tell us that 32 as the regular sizing is too short (Sitka does 32″ on their raingear) I’m sure it’s tough to get all guys happy, but I agree that 33.5 on the Med is too long.

Anymore quality rain gear coming up again? Kryptek, Sitka, or Core4? I seem to burn through this stuff. Missed the Core4 Torrent opportunity
Gotta love the Vantucky. No income tax and close the the airport.
Kendall,
I hope you had fun at OMSI. My office building is 3 blocks away. Clark Lewis

Tim – you bet, we will have the Core4 Torrent jacket and pant (as the extra item) up next week. Yep, I enjoyed OMSI. My son and I spent nearly 2 hours doing those brain teasers near the escalators. Caught the Omnimax film about Tornados. I grew up in Tualatin so I’ve been there a lot, but it’s surprising how much that area has cleaned up in the past 15 years.

Just received my core4 torrent pants. I really like these pants, but the sizing, like stated above is way off. I ordered an XL and the waist is pretty good, but the pants are way too long. If i order the L size will the length be shorter? On the core4 website it shows the M L and XL all have same inseam, is this true?

Has anybody had problems with the core 4 zippers? I have a zipper on my Element jacket and mid mountain vest that are stuck shut and will not open. Other than that I love the Core 4 line.

Tosh – we have seen a few do this and have replaced them or had C4E repair them/replace them if we don’t have the size you need in stock. Give us a call or drop us an email and we’ll get you taken care of. This is something that is being addressed in the 2013 line, but it’s been very rare in the 2011 and 2012 gear that it wasn’t really something that was of too much concern, however noted. I was “testing” it on my jacket and when I push the zipper really hard up into the zipper garage after a few attempts was able to replicate it.
