Matthew – yes, you can cut the end off and burn it. That’s what I did. I got the XL but it was too long for my likes so I cut it and burned the end. Although I’d suggest using a hot knife cutter (your local rock climbing shop should have one, or visit an REI) so the burnt end won’t get brittle. The end has some red stitching on it so you lose that when cutting it, but it still looks fine without it. (IMHO).

It’s a much lighter belt like a seat belt weave, not a heavy nylon that you would support your weight on with a snap link. These are great for daily wear and flex very well for climbing hills and bending.

The Kershaw fillet knife looks great but is much too small at 4 1/2 inch blade to fillet anything. Any chance of the longer blade models becoming available?

That filet knife would make a great boning knife and for cutting backstrap/tenderloin, I tried to order 2 but i’m not sure if the order went through or not. Kendall, can you help?

I’ve got one that I use for that purpose. Good knife and holds an edge through one deer butchering. Wish it had a sheath, but the blade cover is solid.

I ordered 2 of the Talus belts last fall, one for myself and one for my son. We have really liked the belts for everyday use. Mine has held up great but my son’s has frayed badly on one edge. Do they have any kind of life expectancy or warranty? Also, do you have any more? His was the smaller of the two choices, medium/large maybe?
