Description:
Lightweight, durable, and comfortable are three words that fully describe the Switchback Pant. Built for warmer hunts where movement is key, the Switchback Pant is constructed of 100 % double weaved 2-way stretch polyester to breathe extremely well with a gusseted crotch to increase range of motion. They resist moisture and provide mountain-worthy durability, and the fit allows for spring-weight underlayers on those brisk mornings.
When on the final stalk, removable knee pads offer amazing comfort. Snap closure cargo pockets with added slanted vertical zip pocket on the outside allows for easy access no matter your position. Should the weather becomes almost unbearable, rollup the bottom of the pant and a convenient button closure transforms these lightweight pants to lightweight shorts. Suspender loops offer you the option of wearing or not wearing suspenders.
These are great feeling pants that will keep you light on your feet, comfortable from sunrise to sundown as you are switch-backing up the trail.

Core 4 Element has awesome camo…. In fact its probably the best camo I have ever used, but they have poor customer service. I had a reaction to the assault shirt through my forearms from either the material or the fact that it was cut so small through the arms. Two e-mails later and not a single response. It was bought through the ever amazing camofire, but I feel like it was a manufacture issue. None the less Core 4 Element has lost my business due to poor customer service. Something to keep in mind when you plan on spending a grand on a full line of camo. Wish it weren’t the case, because I love their products.
Hot debate. What do you think?

Mathew – please email me – kendall AT camofire DOT com and let me know what the issue is that you’re having with the shirt. I’ll check with C4E and find out why they’ve not replied to you. It looks like you’ve had that shirt for a month – have you washed it to see if the material changes or softens up at all? We’ve sold easily 1000 of these shirts and this is the first reply like that that I’ve ever seen. The arms were built to be archery friendly so they are intended to be snug. Although that shouldn’t cause a rash/reaction. Please reach out to me and I’ll help you out on this.

What kind of competitor’s pant would you compare the Core4 Switchback pant too? There are a lot of things made out of polyester fabric and yet have a ton of different texture feels to them. To what is it similar? Thanks.

The Switchback pants are comparable to the Sitka Ascent pants

I bought the Switchback a month ago, pant is nice and light weight, a more athletic fit, but not quite as severe as Sitka. Fabric is a stretch/weave material. Love the rubberized waistline. If they made these in solids, I’d probably where them daily. I haven’t had them out in the field yet, but I they definitely wouldn’t be a pant I’d wear through brush, more of an early season field pant.

They are very much alike to the Sitka Ascent pants in feel but are bult much better. The cut and fit is more comfortable during extreme motion ie. climbing, kneeling, crawling and the Knee pads make them ideal for spot and stalk hunter. Pockets are just right to hold gear but not be so big a lose that it is banging around at your knees while walking.
I thought too that they would get shredded in brush because they feel so light and weightless. wore mine for scouting, hanging stands, and all early archery last season and they look brand new no sign of wear (my sitka showed a ton of wear after a single season of similar activities). They are more durable then they look and feel for sure. Going to be the best spring turkey pants ever made!

Don’t really have a firm date Daniel. Sorry man. I know they are in the warehouse but the line up isn’t set yet for the arrows. I’ll push to get them sooner than later. Best I can do.

Was out fishing for a couple of days and hiking with the fam, sorry.
The new sizes in Mountain Mimicry arrived yesterday. We’ll have them on the site tomorrow. They will be in numerical sizes – 32, 34, 36, etc with tall included. I’ll have a full forum post about the Core4 product, the pants (they are sized a little funny with the change to numerical sizing) and the rest of the details that everyone is waiting for. Hopefully the post will answer most all the questions.

Max 1 pants. Why no larges? Do they run small like the element pant? I wear a 33 Levi. Would the medium work for me in the switchback pants?

Just wondering what the buttons inside the pants at knee level are for? Im going to cut mine out because they hurt like hell when they get between your knee and the ground. Anyways before I go cutting them I would like to know their use incase it is for something I might use. other than that they are awesome pants!!! my new pants have over 20 hours of antelope stalking (hands and knees) on them fron the last few days and still look new and no blood sadly. Thanks again!!

Brian,
Those buttons are so if you roll the pants up, the strap thing will go through a loop on the outside of the pants and hold the pants up. Hope that makes sense.

Brian – did you have the knee pads in? I wear them 90% of the time when I’m hunting (only take them out when I know I’ve got a long hike as they add a bit of warmth).
Thanks Seth A for the answer.

Thanks Seth, that is what i was thinking they were for but did not spend much time looking or trying to figure it out as I was in the middle of a stalk.
sort of, i took the plastic ones out because I thought they were too noisy and replaced them with 3/8 felt from a saddle shop.

Wow – that’s pretty cool to hear you made your own felt knee pads. How are they working out? I did hear my knee pads kinda squeaking last night as I was kneeling then stalking then kneeling trying to get a shot on a bull. Ran out of light and too many cow eyes looking around. DANG those cows need to just mind their own business and let me get down to business….anyway, I digress..

they work awesome!!! ALOT quieter, more comfortable walking and more feeling while crawling but still enough padding to not have any pain at all. slows you down a little more which i can always use while stalking. I know the feeling about those women, had several bust me these last few days. If only we could get all women to mind their own bussiness the world would be a much happier place!! ;0
