Brian – thanks for the good feedback. I totally fell in love with the Element Jacket and Pant set up last year and this 2012 model has a few minor changes that make it all the nicer (i.e. – the spandex gaiter in the sleeves at the cuff to keep the wind out, grey zippers that blend better than the black, etc). I think you’ll be more stoked after a few days in the mountains this fall!

I own a pair of the core4element pants that were up a few weeks ago, not exactly sure of the model but I got them in small & tall, they had the removable knee pads too- if that helps determine the style…. I also own the Sitka mountain pants(also have removable knee pads) (& a few other Sitka pieces of outer wear) although I haven’t field tested yet, I think the core4 pants I just bought are superior to my Sitkas MTn pants!! I had my Sitkas altered to add leg snaps, paid extra for that of course whereas the core4 had zippers already & thigh vents. Construction of seams better too!! I am mightily impress w the core4!

Doug – what pattern would you prefer C4E built the Element Jacket and Pant in? I’ve seen the sample for Max 1 and it’s sweeeeeeet looking. Should be end of July first of Aug for that.
Some have suggested ASAT, Realtree AP, and even the new Hide Open camo that Eberlestock is using. I myself favor Mountain Mimicry, but I’m curious what you’d like to see it in?

Agreed. Started putting together a new layering system for this upcoming season and am VERY happy I chose core4 > Sitka. Much easier on the wallet for Gear equal in quality IMO. I also like the mimicry pattern better. The element pants and jacket are pretty quiet. I have no reservations on wearing them for archery for both noise and range of movement
