Kendall or other camofire representative,
This is my first buy on camofire.com, So far I’m loving your site. I just pulled the trigger on the core4 element set. I ordered the medium pants, my waist size is 32 and Im thinking I might benefit more from the large with layering and such. Is there a way to have the large sent instead of the medium or will I need to wait for the mediums, try them and send them back?
Thanks for the awesome deals.

I just received my element pants last week and they are really nice. I have a Sitka 90% jacket in MM (also from Camofire, thanks Kendall) and or I would be getting this jacket. I’m bummed the Talus belt offer wasn’t part of the pant only deal. Just my luck. Keep up the great work guys. Camofire rocks!

The Pivot I ordered a couple weeks ago is great! Thanks for that deal.
Planning on ordering a jacket today and would like to order the pants also…but need an XXL Tall (40×36). I did contact Core4 a while back and they said they would look into offering XXL Tall but that was the last time they responded. If I can’t get XXL Tall, is there any possibility of getting some extra fabric so I can have a local tailor lengthen them?

I just returned from a week long Caribou hunt in northern Quebec. I wore this jacket and pants with the Pivot shirt underneath the jacket almost all week. The venting is excellent on both the pants (inner thigh vents) and the Jacket (pit zips) keeping me comfortable while on the go. I was a bit skeptical of the usefulness and comfort while walking of the knee pads but by the end of the week that was one of my favorite features. It is nice to be able to take a knee in wet rocky ground and be comfortable enough to stay there as long as I wanted. When these pants come back up as the main item I will be buying a second pair.
I have these pants, a pair of Switchback pants, the Element jacket, and the Pivot shirt. ALL of the Core4Element gear I have is excellent! I will buy more.

On the Core 4Element Pants how is the fit in the waist? I am at the top end of the medium sizing (33) and would like to order a pair when they come up again. Should I order the Medium or the Large?

First I would like to say these products are top notch, I actually sold my Sitka bibs and APX jacket to buy these, (really wanted zippered vents and like pants over bibs). I got the switchback pants and had my doubts on durability and just how nice they’d actually be for warm weather. I’ve been wearing them to set stands and check cameras and boy have they proven to be my best piece of warm weather gear!
I also guys who are ridding the fence on waist size.. Order up, I am a size 32 jeans/slacks and got the medium switchbacks (33) and they fit comfy but snug with only room for one light base layer which is perfect for them. I just ordered a Large in the Element pants to make sure I can get some heavier layers under. Belts are easy to wear and heck it even comes with a good one but a waist that doesn’t button is worthless.
Kendall, what are the chances of me getting a Pivot or at least an Assault shirt in a Medium added to my order?? I left it open on combined shipping hoping you’d be able to hook me up with one to go with my switchbacks.

Hi,
I ordered the wrong pant size on the switchback pants in max1. I ordered a large and I need the extra large and would like to know if I can change it. Also is the element jacket and pants coming in max1?

In response to you guys wondering if you should get a medium or large in the Element pants, this is my experience. I have a 33 inch waist and the element pants in a medium leave plenty room for a base layer. The switchback pants in a medium are more fitted and snug throughout and might take a silk base layer underneath but not much else. Hope this helps you guys.

Can anyone tell me what the temperature comfort range is for the element jacket and pants. Didn’t how how cold on their own they would keep you comfortable. Thanks

The Core4 jacket is comfortable for mild weather I wouldnt recommend it for anything less than 30 degrees.I wore it for opening week for elk bowhunting it got to freezing and was borderline on comfort. If you were moving it stayed very warm but for sitting and glassing got a little on the cold side. With proper layering I imagine you could use this jacket down to around 15 degrees.

First Look Review…….
Just got my Core4Element Jacket and pants in. First glance they look and feel awesome. Thanks Kendall for the advice between KUIU, CORE4ELEMENT, Sitka and Kryptek. I am glad I went with Core 4, just as good as every other brand, although KUIU might be a little better, but for the price I can not bet this.
For those wondering about size. I am 6’2″ and wear 34/34 pants. I went with the XL in both the pants and Jacket and these fit perfect. Not to big, but enough room when adding under layers.
The one thing I did notice was the pockets for the knee pads where a little low and the length of the XL pants are maybe a hair long, but not long enough to drag on the ground with boots on. However, when I put the knee pads in and knelt down on the ground the knees hit the pad good. Just not sure how they are going to feel with the knee pads down around my calfs while I’m hiking.
Other then that, so far I really like everything. The air zippers on the Jacket and pants are in a perfect spot. My old jacket had the zippers that went under my arm pits and with a pack on they got annoying and didn’t really work well, but these sit by your ribs and will actually work!!
Plenty of pockets for all my gear. I did notice that the outside and inside chest pockets where in the same spot and if you had items in both this could get a little bulgy, but I haven’t really tried them out yet, and if that is the case there are plenty of other pockets to put things in.
Another thing I notice and really like is that on the pants that since cord at the bottom pulls in an upward direction so if you since the cord up it won’t hang low and won’t get caught on the bottom of your boots or in sticks and things on the ground. Great idea!!
All-in-all, I am really impressed and can’t wait to try these out to see how they do.
I have spend the last year looking at updating my clothing gear and have spent countless hours research all the other top brands. I did not know a ton about core4element and went on a limb, with purchasing these. But again, for what Camofire is selling them you can’t beat this deal. They seem as high of a quality as Sitka, Russell, and Kryptek. The only other brand that I would probably say is better would be KUIU, but again they were just to far out of my price range. (This is all reviews from just trying on and looking at each company’s products, I haven’t put anyones to the test yet)

First appearance is wow, not your traditional cotton based product but a great looking product that I can’t wait to try out in the field. As Kendall said they are a tapered slightly snug fit and for some people a little tricky to fit. I’m 5″11 185 pds, 36″ waist , 32″ inseam, 44″ chest and I ordered the xl in the pants and lg in the jacket. The pants fit great with room to wear a layer underneath comfortably, the jacket was pretty snug around the bottom but fit well in the shoulders. However after considering extra layers I decided to exchange the jacket for a xl and of course all the reviews about Kendall and they guys were right on, they were super easy to work with and very prompt.
It is so nice to deal with a company that actually takes care of their customers rather than give a little lip service, I actually own my own business and realized a long time ago that repeat business is key to being successful and the guys at camofire.com figured that out also. Thanks Kendall and keep up the great work.

I just finished using this jacket on my dall sheep hunt, along with the Element pant and merino hoodie and boxers. I can’t say enough good things about this stuff, the pants and jacket blocked out the wind (we had lot of it and heavy) and I never felt sweaty while wearig them.
The merino hoodie and boxers are my favorite base layers and I won’t be using anything else, in fact, I plan on using it this winter when riding snowmachines. My only question now is, when are you going to have some more of your merino wool stuff for sale?? The wife wants a hoodie and i’d like a pair of those base layer bottoms.

First Impression:
I am 6’4″ and wear a 40×36 pant and have a 36″ arm length. I contacted Core4Element to see if there was any chance of an XXL Tall…nope, but I still had to pull the trigger on an XXL Element Jacket and Pant combo. I am not disappointed at all. The jacket is a good fit. Pants are a little short but Core4Element worked with Camofire to sell me a mismark a a greatly reduced price. Now that is customer service!!! Thanks to all that were involved with that. Now I can take them to a local tailor and have them add on to the XXL pants. This is not a fault of the manufacturer – I couldn’t find anyone that made decent gear that produced an XXL Tall.
I am looking forward to hitting the woods with these next weekend. In preparation, I was able to put the pants on over jeans and know I could still walk and sit with a layer on under the jeans thanks to the spandex blend. They could also be worn solo on a warm day since they come with suspenders.
The jacket is comfortable and quiet. I might have gotten away with an XL, but wanted some room for layering. I typically wear a t-shirt, sweatshirt and a jacket. I do have the Pilot as well so I can layer nicely and adjust as the temp changes with the day. Didn’t find any issue layering up and still drawing the bow. Think I made the right choice to go with the XXL.
Camofire does a great job with bundling these deals. Jacket, pants, beanie, and belt all at one time for a fantastic price and great support after the sale. I couldn’t ask for more. I am new to the site, but you know with deals and support like this, I will be back often.

Just wanted to add my 2c worth from your great white northern counsins!
Got my Element pants/jacket/beanie/belt last week. I have to say that I am extremely impressed with the quality of the products. I have a fair amount of Sitka and I can honestly say that Core4 is equal to the quality in build for the equivalent intended use. Having said that I have not checked on the DWR or wind abilities but that is coming shortly. I am really impressed by the design and thought put into the features on the garments. As stated above by others I really like the location of the pit zips and leg zips…not sure why it took so long for anyone to figure this out (including me!) but these are right on the money. Up north (Alberta) here these would be considered for early fall to maybe late fall seasons with the appropriate layering (temps between 0 Celsius to 20 Celsius – may get away with -5 C if very active) but beyond that they just do not have the insulating abilities. This would apply to the equivalent Sitka stuff as well. Although Sitka does have a next step up in lines.
Fitment: I am 5′ 9″ and about 195lbs with a generally stocky build and a 36″ waist & 29-30″ inseam. Based on Kendall’s info and other comments I ordered the XL pants and L jacket. The jacket is a perfect fit with a baselayer and their assault mid layer with a little extra if needed without “streching” the shell. I agree with one of the above comments that the bottom cinch is a little tight even when let out full but hey its elastic and stretches so that is a minor grip, if at all. The pants are also perfect. I have a common problem with my waist size and inseam of too long pants…same here but I expected as much. The good thing about these is that I can cinch them up at the hem and they are good. I really like the suspenders and rubber shirt holders on the waistband…works very well. The belt loops are large and well attached and nicely spaced all around…not like some which have about 4 loops around a pair of pants….really why bother!
I don’t know about others but I have a hard time finding a GOOD belt. The talus belt is perfect! It fits the pants perfectly…as one might expect. It is light weight and the cam mechanism is one of the better I have used.
All in all fantastic products even if they were at Sitka prices!…. but thanks to Kendall they are not! For the money this is the buy of the year for me! To buy what I did in Sitka I would easily have paid 2-3x what I did. Kudos to Kendall/Camofire!
On another note, I wanted to thank Kendall and his staff for helping me get my order in…when it came up I was off the coast of British Columbia sailing ” Don’t even say it!
” and could not get the order to work on my BB. So I called it in and they were very accomodating and made every effort to make it a pleasant experience and even tried to save me some money on shipping up here in the great white north! Not many companies anymore that offer and follow through with what they promise….Kendall and his gang do that and more.
I will pass on one request to the Core4 gang. It would be nice if they could work on some COLD weather clothing! Something along the line of a beefed up Stratus or like… I do have the incinerator stuff but I need something in between that and the Element stuff now and I would be happy to buy it from Core4. I need something for the -5Celsius to -20 Celsius somewhat active hunting…from there it is the incinerator…boy do I like that stuff! Nothing wrong with Sitka but the pricing. I have and will continue to recommend Core4 to all my friends and hunting buddies and hopefully we can see more of it on Camofire or up here for sale in a store. Good luck!
