Description:
Merino wool is fast becoming the standard for a lightweight high performance base layer and the Core 4 Element merino zip T base layer shirt sets the standard for soft, warm and comfortable at a price that agrees with your wallet. No longer does a thermo-regulating base layer need to be super thick and bulky.
Using 100% New Zealand Merino wool in the 190 gram weight (lightweight) it’s still surprisingly durable. From sitting in a cold Wisconsin tree-stand to moving quickly along a Montana ridgeline in pursuit of a trophy elk, the natural wicking properties of the merino will keep you warm and dry. Plus the added length of the shirt will not come untucked throughout your hunt as you bend, climb, stretch and crawl to get that perfect shot. Thumb loops on the sleeves and a generous 9″ zipper for cooling off add to the features.
Built in conjunction with and tested by the Camofire.com crew, this base layer has been through the wringer from spot and stalk hunts, cold spring trail runs, summer scouting trips and winter tree stand hunts from Canada to Illinois. Inside and out it stands up and performs as any gear should.

Kendall – pulled the trigger on this base layer combo. The description says the Camofire crew put this product to the test. What is your experience with it? 100% merino wool seems hard to find these days. It is usually a plend of things. As always, thanks for the great deals!!!!

I really like this shirt. I didn’t design it but was testing it earlier this summer with trail running and then wore it on a number of scouting hikes. In Sept I wore it in Canada when it snowed and rained hard – it was a great base piece. I killed my cow elk in it with my bow on a spot and stalk situation when it was chilly and the base layer was perfect under my Ascent jacket and Traverse Zip. I wore it the other day just kicking it around the house as it was so comfy. So yea, I’m digging it and plan to use it for backcountry skiing this winter.

Kendall, Is this shirt washable or must it be drycleaned? I looked all over but couldn’t find this in the description.

Great questions guys. Yes, the boxer has a fly.
Dennis – Yes it’s washable. My sample model has been through the wash about 8 times or so. Little to no shrinkage.

Just bought this shirt. I am sick and tired of washing my Under Armour after every time i hunt. Love the sitka base but doesn’t keep me as warm as the UA. Would love to see some more FirstLite stuff but this is going to be fun to try. Thanks for all you do Kendall and Camofire.

Great product! Nothing like it that I have seen. My wife was extremely impressed and wants to know if you have women’s sizes in the tops and bottoms. I would like to know if you have men’s bottoms in stock. Kendall, if wondering, yes I am Mark’s Dad. Let me know what stock you have. Appreciate your assistance.

David – we don’t have women’s sizes yet on this merino wool And we hope that we’ll get some bottoms in the first of 2011. Until then, hang tight and hopefully Core 4 Element will come through again for us.
