Description:
Merino wool is fast becoming the standard for a lightweight high performance base layer and the Core 4 Element merino zip T base layer shirt sets the standard for soft, warm and comfortable at a price that agrees with your wallet. No longer does a thermo-regulating base layer need to be super thick and bulky.
Using 100% New Zealand Merino wool in the 190 gram weight (lightweight) it’s still surprisingly durable. From sitting in a cold Wisconsin tree-stand to moving quickly along a Montana ridgeline in pursuit of a trophy elk, the natural wicking properties of the merino will keep you warm and dry. Plus the added length of the shirt will not come untucked throughout your hunt as you bend, climb, stretch and crawl to get that perfect shot. Thumb loops on the sleeves and a generous 9″ zipper for cooling off add to the features.
Built in conjunction with and tested by the Camofire.com crew, this base layer has been through the wringer from spot and stalk hunts, cold spring trail runs, summer scouting trips and winter tree stand hunts from Canada to Illinois. Inside and out it stands up and performs as any gear should.

I got this shirt the last time it was up. Very comfortable and very warm. Nice shirt!

I also purchased this shirt the last time it was up. I am 6’1″, 170 lb. The large has good torso and sleeve length for me. Slightly lower quality compared to the Patagonia merino shirts I have.

Good feedback Dan. What was it that you felt didn’t measure up to Patagonia quality?(aside from the $70 difference in price)I’d love to pass along the feedback.

The Patagonia 1/4 zipper is smoother operating and better protected against rubbing on your throat. Pretty minor. I haven’t worn the Core 4 enough to say anything else yet.

Hey Kendall. Did I miss the windstopper pullover?
If I didn’t already have several icebreaker wool shirts I would have loved to try the Core 4. Will you do the boxers separate another time? The first lite ones were great.
Thanks for the great service.

Windstopper pullover coming up in a bit. We’ll show the boxers on their own another day. Watch for the zip T as an extra item as well.

Wow – I got a text that a nikon scope was up and then another item posted 9 minutes later. Did the scope sell out that fast? Any other rifle scopes coming up, perhaps in a little higher power? Vortex?

Is the combined shipping still in effect? I picked up a vortex scope the other day, and got an email saying it shipped. But if that just means that it is set aside for a week, I want a large one of these pullovers in max4. looks perfect!

Sorry for the delay, Kendall, but I finally got another order in. You guys are really running a tight ship… I think my gaitors shipped within 5hrs of ordering them. The gun was still smokin’!

Kendall,
What base layers do you recommend for the late season?
Thanks.

Nishi – of the items we’ve got in stock, this merino is a perfect next to skin layer. The Terramar geo fleece base layer is expedition weight fleece base layer but is made lighter because of the waffle cut fleece. We have some Terramar military fleece base layers coming in too. A system with a light weight base, then a mid/expedition weight followed by a vest and an insulated or soft shell fleece jacket is a great set up for late season, in my opinion.

Kendall-Thanks for the quick response and the info. Do you have any Sitka Core and Traverse layers coming up or in stock now? How about Sitka baselayers vs Terramar baselayers?
