Does anyone know how much insulation the Crispi boots have or where I can look it up? The Crispi website doesn’t say, just says they are insulated. I’m guessing it’s not thinsulate since it isn’t mentioned, but would it compare to 200 gr., 400 gr., 800 gr.??? Thanks!

Austin – the Crispi boot uses a proprietary insulation that Goretex developed which is an insulator and the Goretex. I asked what it was like compared to the numerical system from Thinsulate and they said there is no comparison but that the boots when worn with a good merino wool sock should keep most feet warm down to zero degrees. I know, not the exact answer you’d like. From wearing them, I would rate them around 400 gr to 600 gr.
Definitely thicker than my 200 gr Danner Pronghorn which are COLD when treestand hunting in the snow, but warm as I’m on the move (naturally)
Hope this info helps you some.

Kendall, thanks for the info! That works good enough for me…seriously thinking about adding some to my gear, but have a few other things I want to pick up first…

Bummer. No Crispi’s in a 13! The horror!
I’d also like to wish everybody at Camofire a Merry Christmas and Big Thank You. Santa has filled many a gift lists. Think of all the smiles on Christmas morning.

Auggie – We try to get as many 13′s as possible but they sold out the last time we offered them. Thanks for the nice comment. The crew is tired and haggard but the finish line (Thursday night) is in sight!

Kathy – for some reason they bumped back to come on after the knives. Watch for them around 5pm MST if the knives haven’t sold out by then.

Pulled my first trigger on camofire. Hope you have some merino wool base layers (size small) in the next 7 days to ship w/ the jacket.

Kendall, thanks for the Browning rain jacket today. Now that I bought it though I have been second guessing myself due to the size. Would you say it would fit someone who weighs 180, is 5’7 and wide shouldered?

Scooter – we’ve got someone here with similar size specs so I’ll have them try it on and give you the heads up. My initial gut feeling is that the small will be too tight
