The Blacks Creek molded bow case has got it covered. This lightweight but durable case will keep a bow protected a during substantial amount of abuse. Achieving maximum protection for a bow no longer requires a bulky case that takes up space. What makes this case strong is the external molded foam construction with an internal padded foam insert.
Equipped with a heavy duty zipper there is a decreased chance of being stuck in the field with a broken zipper. If you are looking for a bow case that is more durable than a soft case but not as bulky as a hard case take a serious look at this molded bow case by Blacks Creek.

^^^ What he said! I’ve been researching these like crazy since my email came. Trying to figure out the differences between the Epic and Axis shafts. 400s in camo, please!

Josh,
These are great cases and very durable, IMO, I’ve used one for a Mathews Reezen. The quiver fits (Mathews T-3 or 5), but it’s better to take the quiver off and let it sit in closer to the bow. The case is designed for the bow only and to use the seperate arrow tube hold your arrows. What I really like about these is the max protection with min bulk. I can case a bow, put it in the closet, man cave, where-ever and it’s protected and ready to go to the range. Hope this helps.

@ Jeremy, The only difference i can see between the axis and epic is the type of inserts they use (hp vs. hit) I am not an arrow expert and dont really know the difference between them. I do know that i shoot easton arrows with the hit technology and i like them and am very impressed with broadhead flight of these arrows. Hit supposedly aligns the broadhead automatically for you so the arrow flies better.
If anyone else can expand upon the differences , benifits, pros, cons on these arrows would be beneficial to us all.
thanks.

I’ve been reading that the Axis are slightly smaller in diameter than the Epics, but can’t find any numbers to back this up, I’m curious, then, if the Epics are smaller diameter than my XT Hunters. The Epics also weigh less than the Axis shafts, how much depends on the spine that you’re after. The inserts are different, and I’m reading quite a few reviews from people who say they prefer the insert of the Epic. Sounds as though build construction is similar, so I’d expect similar durability.

I’m curious. Where do you come up with your retail prices sometimes?
The 10×50 binos you can get online all day long at $300. Don’t get me wrong, 184 is still a good price but retail of $470? wink……

How good are Vanguard optics? I was looking into some Nikon spotting scopes. However on here every now and then is the vanguard spotting scopes. How do they compare? Any one have one of the spotting scopes that can tell me a lil about em? Specifically the eye relief, clarity, focusabilty, and water/fog proofness. I’ll pick one up if they are decent, I’m about ready to hand on my hand me down Tasco spotter. It’s pretty much a useless P.O.S..

Pat – we get them from the manufacturer. When they build products they set MSRP. Now they do also have MAP which is the general minimum they will allow retailers to sell at so the pricing will hover between that and the original MSRP. When it varies so much across the web and stores, how would you suggest we decide what is the MSRP? (not trying to be a smart@$$, seriously curious). In lieu of a method we just take the MSRP that the manufacturer gives us and move on. Our primary strategy is to be the best price on the web for that day on that item, period. Hope that helps answer your question.
Montana – Vanguard’s low end optics are just that – low end. Which is why we try to be selective on the specific optics we bring in from them. This particular model is solid mid tier quality. Optics snobs will scoff, general populous will think they are just fine. They are certainly better known as a tripod and case company, but their optics are coming along. They are mid tier optics at best and while some may question it being on Camofire, we also realize that not every guy can afford Swaro/Zeiss quality and is willing to accept a mid-tier bino until the budget allows for excess spending. My $.02 at least.

Thanks Kendall! Yeah I’m am unfamiliar their with optics as I too really only know them from their case and tripods. Matter of factly I first found out that they made optics cause I saw them on Camofire. That was a very honest answer thanks. I fall into that group of people that can’t afford the top of the line stuff. I’m blue collar baby!!! That is why I love this site so much. You guys are not about making as much profit as you can! But more the happy medium kinda place gotta make a dollar but also sell at a price that would makes (most) people happy and closer to what true MSRP should be set at. IMO

@Montana, I’ve seen quite a few good reviews of the Vortex optics, both binos and spotters over the last year. I haven’t personally looked through them as I haven’t purchased new optics in a while, but they would certainly be on my short list along with Nikon and Leupold. I, too, am a mid-grade optic user. Truth be told, I can see everything that I need to see both before and after legal shooting hours. Do I need more capability than that? I have found my optics to be exceedingly sufficient, and I enjoy having the extra coin in my bank.
@Kendall – I’m reading more and more on the Epic shafts. Any chance we’ll see these in 400 spine? I understand that there’s a ‘new’ Epic and ‘old’ Epic, though I’ve not yet found the differences or how to determine which is which. I have found that the Epics are 9/32″ dia, wheras the Axis are 17/64″ dia. for those who are wondering. These are in the running for me… hoping to try them against my XT Hunters.

The old epics were no n-fused…newer ones are n-fused. Epics are slighter larger than Axis. Many people prefer the Epics over teh Axis because they do not have HIT (some people like them, some don’t). I do know of an Easton staffer who uses Epics religiously.

Thanks Jeremy! Ill give those vortex optics a look. I agree as long as I can see all need to see in legal shooting light I’m good besides dropping that much money isn’t worth it to me when the money I’ll save can go to more Camofire stuff.
@Kendall – You are right, that new camo pattern getting ready to drop over @ Eberlestock is sweeeeeeet! Do you reckon we will be seeing that pattern show up here any time or is it too new? Is it gonna be available from Eberlestock only? (like “Optifade” is only avail. from Sitka)

I’ve had my wife set-up with Epics for the last two years, they seem to hold up well. She’s only shot one deer and the Epic performed fine. Personally I prefer the smaller diameter Axis shafts but that’s just personal preference.

Has anyone come up with terminology to describe the waiting period we have to endure while watching XXXLs trickle out the door?

@ Kendall. That’s a bit snippy, but that’s alright.
I fully understand what MSRP and MAP are. You state “retail” price, not MSRP and that’s why I was wondering how you come up with your price. Using an MSRP #, but calling it retail just makes the % look more attractive. But hey, I don’t care and I’m not trying to bust your b*lls. Just wondered how you came up with the numbers your posting.
Have a good day.
