The Kodiak Extreme from Black’s Creek is a full functional day pack that combines the features of a full pack and a fanny pack in one. Padded shoulder straps and a mesh back function like a regular pack in carrying the load and helping to transfer it from your hips to your shoulder so that despite how much you load down the 1250 cu in you’ll not be slowed down when you’re on the move. 4 different compartments will store gear well. If you need to carry more gear or perhaps some meat, the top expands up to give you a full 2000 cu in of space (see the image on the Realtree AP pattern).
There are outer compression straps which aside from making the pack more streamline when it’s not full these can also carry a seat or even a sleeping bag if you were trying to go ultra light. The weather resistant quite fabric is tough as nails and will last you for years to come. Lastly, a gun carry can be converted to carry a bow so you can move hands free and without all of the weight on your shoulders like a traditional pack.

Hi, Can you please tell me what the distance from the top of the shoulder straps to the middle of the waist belt is? In other words what torso lengths will the pack accommodate? I have a 21.5″ torso and it is hard to find packs that sit on the hips and don’t squeeze my belly. Also when the main compartment is expanded how is it accessed?
