My photo ended up in second place, I chose the Nicon 1000. My question is why would you run a contest without having the prizes? As of yet I still have not received my Nicon and t-shirt. i have sent a few emails to Ross and hes has been courteous in his reply’s but I have no idea what is being done to expedite it? Mybe you could shed som light on it for me, I’d appreciate it.

Gene – we were told from Nikon that the rangefinder was on its way to us which is why I put it into the mix as one of the prizes. Then when the contest was over I asked the warehouse if it had arrived to find out had not arrived. When I contacted Nikon they said it was backordered and would ship asap.
I totally realize the wait sucks, but do you think we’re going to stiff you and not deliver? Please, that would NEVER EVER happen, I’m sure you realize that. We’ve enjoyed emails back and forth over years and I suspect you realize that I would never allow that to happen. I’ve asked my Nikon contact every week what’s the status of the rangefinder. If you’re going to be using it in the very near future, I’ll just go buy one from Cabelas (cringe) and ship it to you.
I’m super stoked you won as your Moose was a giant. I’ll do whatever it takes to help make you stoked about winning.

I’ll lay on the babble thick if you win Levi! Did you enter the contest only showing a belt? We, at least I didn’t consider winners based on how much gear they had on or not from Camofire. I was looking for cool photos, views, animals and joy/expression of the hunters. If the photo made me feel like I wanted to be there, in that exact spot in that dude’s shoes, it was a winner in my judgement. Species didn’t matter to me. I’m a die hard elk chasing fool and only voted for one elk image. Heck, the guy that shot the 404 bull had an awesome bull, a once in a lifetime bull but only got one vote out of six.
