I know the C4E Torrent gear is new, but does anyone have any reviews on it? Camofire crew have you used it?

I haven’t used their rain gear yet but I have their element jacket and pants as well as a few different shirts and beanies. I can’t say anything bad about their gear except I am a shorter fella and they definetly design their gear for taller leaner guys. Having said this they produce top notch hunting gear that I am proud to own and wear.

Chris – I’ve not field tested it. One of the guys hopped in the shower for 10 min with it on and came out perfectly dry. That said, I know two guys went on a Dahl sheep hunt with the rain gear back in late July and came back singing praises. Another guy took a set to NV on a high country muley hunt and used it every afternoon and he said it performed awesome. One other guy took a set to New Mexico on an elk hunt but we’ve not heard back from his field report.
I personally haven’t tested it but feel quite confident that it’ll perform as solid as anything on the market for rain gear. The features are solid and construction looks bomber too. Plus with how small and light it is when compact I know I’ll be stoked to trade in my Russell rain gear as it’s heavier.

For the rain gear…order your normal size. It is designed to fit over your other hunting clothes. I am 5’11″ and I wear a large in the pant and jacket.

Greg,
There seems to be difference between the size chart on the Camofire site and the one on the Core4 site.
My only concern is that I am 37″ in the chest with a 35″ sleeve so I order the medium jacket. On the pants I am 32″ in the waist with a 33″ inseam, I thinking the medium pants I ordered may be too small to fit over any clothing.
Do you believe I should have ordered the large pants?

Whoohoo, been hoping they would make rain gear!
Just need to choose camo?
My current core4 stuff is mm, but I hunt in Missouri as much as I do Colorado. I suspect the rain gear will get used more often in Missouri spring turkey than Colorado elk season.
Do you guys think the max pattern would be a decent compromise for both locations?

Max 1 would likely work well in both as springtime in MO will be green and CO is a good location for Max 1. That’s my $.02

Are the waist measurements like the element pants? I normally wear a 34 waist, but ordered a 34 in the element pants and it was pretty tight. They say to measure your actual waist with a tape. The C4E site says a large torrent pants fits a 35 waist. Is this 35 with a tape or 35 pant size?

Great question. I’ll re-check measurements with the tape to be sure.

Any update? I wear a 34T in the element pants and a large in the element jacket. I was thinking of just ordering large jacket and large pants in the torrent…… but debating on whether to go to XL.

Bryce, stick to the Large. I just checked and by the tape the XL measures 37″ without the stretch. I measure 36″ and they fit good over my pants that I’m wearing today. Hope that helps.

A couple of weeks ago I got the Sitka Stormfront Lite Jacket, how does the C4E compare? I have a mix match of Sitka and C4E jackets and pants so I know both are good products. Just which one is ……. umm, better? Better in the sense of packability and staying dry.

Haven’t tried the Core4 yet, this will be the first set. I have the SF Lite, and I’d say it’s too loud for stalk hunting or bowhuinting.
The Core4 is supposed to be close to silent with the brushed face, so I’m leaning towards them for less noise issues, and will keep the Sitka for sit and watch gun season hunts.
Looks like both pack small for carry.
