Today’s First Item: ALPS CRESCENT LAKE +20 DEGREE SLEEPING BAG
Regular Retail Price: $79.99
Camofire Price: $39.56 – 51% OFF Retail

Description:
The Crescent Lake series sleeping bags from Alps are made with Techloft insulation which consists of multi-hole staple-length micro-denier fibers that have a siliconized finish for maximum insulation, loft, and compactness. The Crescent Lake uses a 2-layer offset construction, sometimes called a “bag within a bag.” The contoured hood and mummy shape helps seal up your warmth and keep you warmer.
The Crescent Lake +20 degree is a great backpacking 3 season sleeping bag to take along on your hunting and backpacking trips that won’t take up all the space in your pack. The reality is that a 20 degree bag is on of the most versatile bags because you get a lighter weight bag that you can easily use from spring well into the fall without cooking all night long. When the temps dip near to zero by wearing a down jacket or fleece layer you should be good to go.

Come on with the sleeping bags. I can get this stuff at SteepandCheap any day of the week at same or better pricing. Bring on the hunting stuff!

yeah, i’m with you, clovis. these sleeping bags are really lame. for starters, they’re of the lowest quality. no backpacker would ever use these things. you could use them for basecamp/car camping if you dont care about quality or comfort. and the price, so what, there are a zillion other brands selling super low quality, heavy, bulky sleeping bags for just as cheap or cheaper. so, like clovis said, bring on the hunting stuff–or, bring on some halfway decent sleeping bags/pads/tents.

Damn I woulda loved to get a set of these, but I just couldn’t get the order to go thru for some reason. After check out it kept saying cart empty even though it showed a pair in the cart! Oh well I guess I’ll get em next winter, back to the homemade stuff. I guess I’ll have to be extra sneaky out there against those predators.

I’m with you guys. I’m concerned this is a sign of things to come with the Black Ovis website they are working. Kendall has been incognito. I’m guessing they are spending all their time on that new website…..
P.S. Anyone else find most of the CamoFire Facebook updates kinda cheesey?

@ The Nikon spotting scope. Where did you find retail at 910.00? Everywhere online is closter to the 5-600.00 range. If you would have based the percentage off from there I would have purchased this in a second. Now I have to think about it realy hard.

If you look online you can find it for $430, I liked it a lot better when they were giving us all honest deals not “lets jack up the retail to make it look like were giving them a deal”.

Thanks for the feedback guys. We get the retail prices from the manufacturers. I searched high and low on the web and best price I could find on this exact scope (20-60×82 – I saw the 15-30 on Cabelas at $439) was in the $550 range or higher. I made an adjustment to the price on the site and refunded the few guys that had purchased already. We do listen to your feedback and appreciate it.
Also, we’ve been moving servers the past week so my access to the server to update the forum with the most recent deals has been limited. We did the final move last night so I should be back in action. Sorry about that Jeffrey.

Kendall
For just a few people providing us with a great service I’d like to say thanks. I’m having a harder time pulling the trigger now that I’ve got most everything I need. Not because of retail pricing – I mean, who pays retail anyway. I check the prices often before I “pull the trigger” and I’m amazed how you adjust the prices for people. If I wanted it from a different site I’d buy it from them.
Good customer service is responding to your customers criticisms and suggestions. I don’t know how you stay so competitive but keep up the good work.
I’d also be interested in: more of the Russell APX gear. Especially the cold weather jacket and pants with Primaloft. A really decent camo poncho for rain to cover the backpack. Archery releases and quivers. Electronic predator calls. Arrow saw. Shrink fletching. Here I thought I had everything…

Kevin – thank you. Your wish will come true – Russell APX is in the house. A few random sizes on a few items but hopefully what you’re wanting. Other items noted and we’ll be on it. Oh, Easton FMJ anyone? Just arrive today.

A few weeks ago Gander Mountain put just about the entire Russell APXG2 line on clearance sale on their website now that the season is over. They had L1, L2, L3, L4 and L5 gear at great discounts. They have been mostly cleaned out because the deals were so good, but they still have some stuff left. They did not have my size in some of the items that I wanted, so I’m hoping they show up here at equally good prices. I did score the L4 jacket and bibs and they are sweet!

none of the forum update stuff bothers me really! I really do agree with kevin, believe me I have fudged the checkbook registry to pad my camo-fire needs I think this site does rock most of the time but nobody can want EVERYTHING they put up here. But sometimes it does tend to get it a rotation of the same stuff often, which should be fixed when blackovis.com drops! hopefully getting more items for here and another outlet for high quantity stocked products. Keep doing what your doing Kendall just more variety as so well suggested by kevin! just my 2cents

Thanks Montana.
Steve – Russell is switching from Mossy Oak Treestand camo to King’s Mountain Shadow and Realtree AP. That’s why they are moving it out.

Shane – yea, I’m working to get them up on as the first item Tuesday night into Wed. Don’t hold me to it if I’m off by a day, but that’s the plan.
I hunted and killed two elk last year with the FMJ. It’s heavier of course but I love the durability and the solid flight.

If Russell is dumping Mossy Oak Treestand then it seems like that pattern may be dying a slow death. The last time I was in Cabela’s I didn’t see any of it. They used to have quite a bit of it on the racks, but no longer.
On another note, I just received my Team Realtree Late Season Bibs and man are they nice. I sure could have used those back in Dec and Jan! Those were a sweet deal for $110.

Steve – interesting to note about not seeing MO Treestand in Cabelas. Honestly, the more gray version of MO Treestand was used by a lot of guys in sheep hunting realms. I’ve hunted in it and while it’s not my favorite pattern it was effective for me in close and longer range. I think the name “Treestand” killed that pattern from day 1. Heck, we have a Realtree “Treestand” pant that is an awesome gortex pant but the name kills the sales on it.
